  • EXHIBITION “GLASSTRESS. A WINDOW TO THE FUTURE” IN ST. PETERSBURG

    One of the largest exhibitions of works made of glass by contemporary masters was opened at the General Staff Building of the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. It occupies more than ten halls of the museum. The exhibition “Glasstress. A Window to the Future” includes more than 50 works, including those by Jan Fabre, Ai Weiwei, the Chapman brothers, etc.

    30 years ago on 6 September, 1991, Leningrad was renamed back to St. Petersburg. The decision to return the historical name to the city was made taking into account the opinion of the city-dwellers. Over its 318-year history, St. Petersburg has changed names several times - during different periods of time it used to be called Petrograd and Leningrad.

    The 9th International Contemporary Art Fair Cosmoscow 2021 will be held from 18 to 20 September at the Central Manège in Moscow. 80 galleries will present their stands at the event.     The 20th Baikal International Film Festival "Man and Nature" will open in Irkutsk on 8 September. The competition program included 31 films. These are documentary, popular science, fiction, animation and full-dome films that will be shown in the Irkutsk Planetarium.

    This Friday, 27 August, the International Military Music Festival Spasskaya Tower starts in Moscow. This means only the opening ceremony, because the festival is already underway: the orchestras-participants have been performing around the city gardens since 14 August, and on 22 August the Central Military Orchestra performed at the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces.
