Metro

We will go down the famous metro. St. Petersburg metro was opened in 1955. Nowadays, it is considered to be one of the deepest in the world. The numerous stations are richly decorated with molding, bas-reliefs and mosaics. This means of transport is very popular among the citizens as it allows them to move quickly around the city. During our tour we will visit the station Admiralteyskaya which is one of the newest and is considered to be one of the deepest in the world. The depth of the station is 86 meters.

Walking tour around the city centre

This panoramic tour of the city centre of St. Petersburg allows you to get to know the life of the city, its history and culture. Our way goes along the main street of St. Petersburg Nevsky prospect. Walking along the street you will feel the unforgettable atmosphere of the city. St. Petersburg is an impressive and diverse city. Here you can find small cafés side by side with luxurious restaurants, modest hostels next to elegant hotels. St. Petersburg is a multiconfessional city. In the same street you can find an orthodox church, a catholic cathedral, a Lutheran and an Armenian church. During this walk you can feel a true citizen of St. Petersburg.

Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood (Resurrection of Christ Church)

This church was built by emperor Alexander III to immortalize to memory of his father Alexander II who had been assassinated on the place where the church is now. One can say that the church is a personification of religious architecture of ancient Moscow. From the outside the walls are faced with specially prepared red bricks and richly decorated with glazed bricks panels and tables. In the history of arts there is hardly any other example of equal dimensions: the mosaics of the church were based on original paintings of great Russian painters, 1000 m² of the facade and 6000 m² of the interiors are covered with mosaics.

Erarta

Nowadays Erarta is the largest private museum of modern art in Russia. The mission of the museum is to collect, exhibit and popularize the most extraordinary works of art of the most talented contemporary artists. Besides paintings it includes graphics, sculpture, installations, video-art. Art lovers are invited to take a walk around the museum and observe the most outstanding works of the collection.

The museum of Dostoevsky

The life of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky is tightly connected to St. Petersburg. Since 1837 when Dostoevsky arrived to the city he moved flat 20 times. In the books of the famous writer we find the streets and buildings of St. Petersburg. However, the house on the corner of Kuznechny street and Dostoevsky street is considered to be one of the most famous of his dwellings. It was here where Dostoevsky wrote his famous novel "The Karamazov brothers”. The interior decoration of the house is typical of the time, the museum exhibition allows us to know more about the life of the famous maestro.
