  • CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL ON THE CASTLE RUINS

    A classical music festival was opened in the ruins of a 13th century castle near Kaliningrad. Brandenburg Castle in the village of Ushakovo became the first architectural monument in the region, which was decided to save with the help of classical music. On Thursday evening, 05 August, the Cantata festival opened here.

    At the end of September, 2021 Russian southern city of Sochi will host the sixth Formula 1 Championship stage - the Russian Grand Prix. It will take place from 23 to 26 September. Together with Formula 1, Formula 2 support races will be held. Moreover, in the new season Formula 2 will hold three races per stage.

    To commemorate the Navy Day the naval parade took place in Kronstadt and in the center of St. Petersburg on 25 July. It was timed to coincide with the 325th anniversary of the Russian fleet. Traditionally, the main spectator was Russian President Vladimir Putin.

    The painting The Beautiful Gardener, also known as Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist, by Raphael was delivered from the Louvre Museum (Paris) to the Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg). From 21 July to 19 September Raphael's masterpiece can be seen in the Apollo Hall of the Winter Palace.
