2 Days / 1 Night
DAY 1. PETROZAVODSK (City Tour + Kizhi Island)
Early morning arrival in Petrozavodsk.
Meeting with local guide at the railway station. Breakfast in a restaurant.
City tour of Petrozavodsk. Petrozavodsk was founded by Peter the Great in 1703 on the banks of Lake Onego, in the first place as an iron factory and quarrying centre. The city, now capital of Karelia, has fine examples of the 18th century Neo-Classical architecture. The city tour covers the main sights, as well as a walk along the embankment of Lake Onego. Transfer to the Onego Lake Embankment.
Departure for Kizhi Island by hovercraft.
Excursion to the Kizhi Museum of wooden architecture and cultural history. You will get acquainted with the famous Kizhi churches, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and visit one of the houses of the Kizhi museum village.
Lunch (lunch box).
Departure for Petrozavodsk. Accommodation.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 2. PETROZAVODSK (National museum “Karelian mosaic” + snowmobile safari + art space “Tasty Karjala”)
Breakfast. Check-out.
Visit to the National museum “Karelian mosaic”. You will plunge in 3 eras of Karelian history, you will try to make fire in different ways, put on your armor and will try to “iron” your linen in Karelian style.
Lunch in a restaurant.
Transfer to the snowmobile safari starting point (20 km from Petrozavodsk). Your instructor will give a briefing on snowmobiling and after a short practice course you will continue your adventure on riding a snowmobile. You will cover the distance of about 60 km and enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Karelian forest covered with a soft snow blanket and the adrenaline of snowmobiling.
Transfer back to Petrozavodsk.
Visit to the art space “Tasty Karjala” with Petroglyph (ancient rock paintings) cave.
Dinner in local style.
Transfer to the railway station.
