Saint Petersburg prepares to host the international Opera to Everyone festival on July 12-23.
The project aims to breathe a new life into classical operas with the help of the architecture of Saint Petersburg (Voice of Russia reports).
The Festival features opera concerts performed by the leading artists of St. Petersburg on the central squares of the city and in the suburbs in the open air.
The Festival starts with the Prince Igor Opera by Alexander Borodin performed on Sobornaya Square of Peter-and-Paul Fortress on July, 12th.
July, 16th, to mark the 250 years anniversary of the Gatchina Palace opera Tannhäuser by Wagner will be staged on the square infront of the Gatchina Palace.
July, 19th in Central Park of Culture and Rest im.S.M. Kirov on Elagin Island you can enjoy Prokofiev's Betrothal in a Monastery.
The closing performance takes place in Tsarskoye Selo on July, 23d with the Marriage of Figaro by Mozart.
