WINTER ADVENTURE ON LAKE BAIKAL

Lake Baikal is one of the most picturesque places in Russia. Tours to Baikal are interesting at any time of the year, but in winter they are especially unique. The lake, covered with ice as clear as glass and seemingly with a pattern painted on it, has long been a popular destination for photographers and nature lovers. Tourists who have been here say that Baikal has the most beautiful ice on the planet. People also come here to skate on the largest natural skating rink or play hockey, ride snowmobiles or dog sleds. And, of course, to enjoy the cleanest air, away from big cities. Ice begins to form from mid to late December, depending on weather conditions. The ideal period to visit is February.
