The Russian Railways Company (RZD) celebrates its birthday on the 1st of October. On the 1st of October 2003, the Ministry of Railways was reorganized into an open joint-stock company Russian Railways. This year, Russian Railways is celebrating its 17th birthday. The company is the backbone and "locomotive" of the Russian economy whose growth, changes, development and implementation of incredible technological projects, we observe from year to year.Thanks to the Russian Railways Сompany, we have the possibility to travel along the famous Trans-Siberian Railway. The length of the Trans-Siberian Railway is more than 9000 km. This route starts in Moscow and ends in Vladivostok, connecting two opposite ends of Russia.
