A LARGE-SCALE ART PROJECT IN HONOR OF THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF ANDREI TARKOVSKY

On the 4th of April the new art project was opened in Ivanovo - Tarkovsky.Return to the Motherland, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Andrei Tarkovsky. The exhibition features archival photography and audio recordings, as well as lectures by film critics devoted to the director's works.

The centerpiece of the art project are authentic photographs from the Andrei Tarkovsky personal archive, as well as audio recordings and archival documents that tell not only about the life and work of Tarkovsky himself, but also about modern cinema. And in a special recreation area the atmosphere of the director's workplace was recreated.

Also, within the framework of the project, a conference room was organized, in which the greatest national critics and filmmakers talk about Tarkovsky, and a small bookstore with the best books on the director's work and souvenirs made especially in honor of the memorable date.

Project Tarkovsky. Return to the Motherland was created as part of the Tarkovsky 90 series of events. Archival materials for the exhibition were provided by various museums, including the Andrey Tarkovsky International Institute (Florence, Italy).
