Stravinsky Days will be celebrated with concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow. The event, timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the composer's death, will be held from 4 to 6 April in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Maestro Valery Gergiev has opened the Igor Stravinsky Days at the Mariinsky Theater on April 04. On April 05 spectators will see a commemorative concert program in the Moscow’s Zaryadye Hall. During the three-day marathon at the Mariinsky Theater, viewers will see the ballets Petrushka and The Firebird by Mikhail Fokin, The Rite of Spring by Vaslav Nijinsky and many more. The New Stage of Mariinsky Theater will present ballets by contemporary choreographers: Playing Cards, Pulcinella, Symphony in Three Movements. And in the Concert Hall The Story of a Soldier will be shown. 2021 has been declared the Year of Igor Stravinsky at the Mariinsky Theater.
