NEW EXHIBITION OF PUSHKIN FINE ARTS MUSEUM

22 April 2021

On April 20 the Moscow's Gallery of Art of the Countries of Europe and America of the XIX - XX centuries opened a new exhibition called "Not painting. Decorative and applied art from the collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts". For the first time, the main theme of the exhibition will not be painting, but ceramics and textiles created by famous masters of the 20th century, such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy, Maurice Denis, Fernand Léger.

The exhibition features over 70 works of art, many of which the public will see for the first time. Meanwhile, ceramics for the artists turned out to be an organic continuation of their work: small-circulation ceramic works by Pablo Picasso, textile panels by the art deco master Raoul Dufy, and much more. The museum collection also contains ceramic works by Henri Matisse. The exhibition is complemented by the graphic works of the artists.
