NAVY DAY IN RUSSIA

To commemorate the Navy Day the naval parade took place in Kronstadt and in the center of St. Petersburg on 25 July. It was timed to coincide with the 325th anniversary of the Russian fleet. Traditionally, the main spectator was Russian President Vladimir Putin. More than 50 ships, submarines and boats of various classes participated in the part of the parade which was held on water. In addition to the historical replica of the battleship "Poltava", sailing schooners "Yuny (Young) Baltiets", "Nadezhda" (Hope) and “Lady L", the "Triumph" brig and the "Lukkul" cutter were invited. In addition, for the first time 7 nuclear and non-nuclear submarines were shown at once, and the warships of the Indian, Pakistani and Iranian navies followed in wake in Kronstadt. The part of the air parade was attended by 48 aircraft of various classes - from the classic MI-8 helicopter to SU-27, SU-30, SU-33, MIG-29 and MIG-31 fighter planes. Due to coronavirus restrictions, the access to the parade was limited, the concert on Palace Square was cancelled, and the fireworks took place only in Kronstadt.
