FORMULA 1 IN SOCHI

29 July 2021

At the end of September, 2021 Russian southern city of Sochi will host the sixth Formula 1 Championship stage - the Russian Grand Prix. It will take place from 23 to 26 September. Together with Formula 1, Formula 2 support races will be held. Moreover, in the new season Formula 2 will hold three races per stage. Thus, the support races, which are so loved by the audience for the uncompromising struggle of young pilots, will become even more interesting.

The Sochi Autodrome is the only autodrome in Russia that hosts Formula 1 races. It was officially opened at the Sochi Olympic Park on 20 September, 2014. From 9 to 12 October 2014, it hosted the first ever Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix. The length of the Sochi Autodrome track is 5848 meters. It runs among the venues that hosted the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. There are 18 turns on the track: 12 right and 6 left. In the configuration of the track, attention is drawn to the protracted third turn - a 750-meter left turn with a constant radius.

The Russian Grand Prix is more than just a race! Every day a large entertainment program is provided for spectators in the Olympic Park - from early morning until the evening, when the music program begins.
