During the panoramic tour of the capital of Ukraine we will visit - among other curiosities of the city - Sofiivska Square where the St. Sophia Cathedral and the buildings of the monastery of the same name are located. This cathedral is the oldest in the city and was built in 1034 in honor of Prince Yaroslav's victory over the Pechenegs tribe. We continue the excursion towards the St. Andrew’s Church (without entrance), one of the symbols of the city, located in the place where meet the Volodymirska Street and the charming Andriyivskiy Descent which curving down to the Podil connects the two historical parts of the city – the Upper and Lower parts. The Church of St. Andrew is the Baroque interpretation of the traditional Russian five-domed churches based on the foundation in the shape of a cross designed by Rastrelli. The church of St. Andrew is located in the center of Kiev and at the same time in the oldest part of this city, on the territory of the ancient fortress where, according to legend, the Apostle Andrew, the first preacher of Christianity in Russia, predicted the appearance of the city and erected the cross.

OPTIONAL: This day we offer an optional visit to Kiev-Pechersk Lavra / Duration - 3 hours.
On the high right bank of the Dnipro River, on its picturesque hills and slopes is located the Kiev Monastery of the Caves. The imposing and harmonious ensemble of the monastery with its bell towers and high domes of its cathedrals is an organic part of Kiev and occupies a remarkable place in the panorama of the city. It is one of the main curiosities of Kiev, its best adornment. The Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is one of the first great ancient Russian monasteries. Its foundation is closely linked with the introduction of Christianity in Kievan Rus' in 988. The monastery owes its name Pechersk to the catacombs or caves where two monks Antony and Theodosius founded the monastery in the surroundings of Kiev.
