HD City tour / Duration - 4 hours.

Established in 1550 and the capital of Finland since 1812, Helsinki is one of the smallest capitals in the world with approximately half a million inhabitants. The great Market Square next to the southern area of the port is the place from where the city opens to the world; that's where the elegant Esplanadi boulevard begins. The belt of islands and islets that surrounds the coast offers a great variety of destinations to visit. We will see the Lutheran Cathedral, symbol of the city and a welcome point for the approaching ships. The town hall and the Presidential Palace stand out over the colorful and lively Market Square. Helsinki is an exceptional city, only half of its metropolitan area is urbanized and the rest are parks, forests, coastlines and lakes. You will also see the rock-cut Temppeliaukio church, the monument to the composer Sibelius, the Dipoli building of the Helsinki University of Technology in Otamieni, considered a 20th century masterpiece, the diplomatic quarter, etc. A visit to any of the many cafes and terraces where you can taste Finnish beer is a must.

OPTIONAL: In the afternoon we offer an optional visit to the island-fortress of Suomenlinna - a magnificent marine fortress from the era of Swedish and Russian domination. This monument was declared in 1994 a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Although it preserves its walls, its galleries and many of its canyons intact, today Suomenlinna is a place of leisure, with six museums and several craft shops, cafes, restaurants, garden areas, etc. A perfectly signposted 1.5km route will allow us to know its most relevant places.
