GAMES OF THE FUTURE IN KAZAN

Games of the Future is the first international multi-sport event in the phygital concept with a total prize fund of $10 million. It will be held from February 21 to March 3, 2024 in Kazan. More than 260 international teams and over 2,000 participants from around the world are taking part in the tournament.

Day 1.

 

Meet your guide in the hall of the port terminal of St. Petersburg.

 

Departure to the bus tour "Jewish St. Petersburg”. First Jewish settler came to St. Petersburg at the time of the city foundation, during the reign of Peter the Great, however the official date of Jewish community foundation in the city should be considered the year 1802, when a lot of land was purchased for the Jewish cemetery, it was a part of Volkov Lutheran cemetery. During our tour we will visit different places, connected with the life of the Jewish community in town, learn were Jewish people lived during the Russian Empire times, and how their life changed when the Soviets came to power after the October Revolution. We will definitely make a stop to visit Grand Horal Synagogue. This magnificent building has been the centre of Jewish life in town for several centuries. On the territory of the Synagogue you will have a chance to visit kosher shop and restaurant

 

Free time for lunch

 

Later we will visit the cradle of the city – Peter and Paul Fortress, and continue on to the famous Hermitage museum. It is the largest museum in Russia and one of the most important and well-known museums of the world. The collection that was started by Empress Catherine II in 1764 now numbers more than 3 million objects. Objects that date back to various periods from prehistoric times to nowadays are exhibited in 400 rooms. The sheer jewels of the collection are the works by Leonardo da Vinci, Rafael, Tiziano, Rembrandt, P.P.Rubens, A. Van Dyck, El Greco...

 

Return to the ship.

 

Day 2.

 

Meet your guide in the hall of the port terminal of St. Petersburg.

 

Today we will visit another fascinating monument of architecture and garden art, Pushkin (Tsarskoe Selo). The combination of gold, celestial walls, niveous columns and silvery roof create an impressive sight. The jewel of the palace is the Amber room which is considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. The romantic alleys around the Catherine Palace invite visitors for a pleasant walk to the favourite pavilions and ponds of the Russian emperors.

 

We will definitely visit the monument the Formula of Grief. This is a very special place, here during the WWII Nazis executed Jewish residents of Pushkin.

 

Free time for lunch

 

We will return to town to visit the Jewish cemetery, where more 80000 people are buried. During the soviet atheistic times the cemetery was neglected and gradually falling apart, at presnt time the active restoration works are taking place.
