Artemis

ARTEMIS

Introduction
Named after the fiercely independent Greek goddess of hunting, the 1200-passenger Artemis is small enough to access ports and waters not charted by larger ships. And unlike most other liners, all 600 cabins on Artemis boast ocean views and a bathtub. Offering a classic ocean cruising experience with traditional British touches, Artemis features three pools, jacuzzis, seven bars and lounges, two restaurants, a cinema, nightclub, gym, casino and a library. Artemis also offers passengers a New Horizons personal enrichment programme with subjects such as history, art, literature, classical music, antiques, gardening and ballroom dancing.
Formerly sailing as Royal Princess as part of the US-based Princess Cruises fleet and originally christened by the late Princess Diana, Artemis beautifully recreates an authentic cruising experience. Charming, friendly, comfortable and child-free, she features all the reassuring comforts of home. With a fantastic array of public rooms and modern facilities, Artemis offers traditional cruising in a thoroughly up-to-date environment. And theres no compromise on style or luxury. As the smallest ship of the P&O Cruises UK fleet, Artemis has charm and a friendly atmosphere combined with a refined level of service and expertise that makes for the ultimate cruising adventure.
All cabins on the Artemis are Outside and feature a window and/or balcony. A refurbishment in December 2007 saw the introduction of brand new 8" Slumberland mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen and stylish bed runners. There are two lower beds  that convert to a king, a bathroom that also was upgraded in December 2007, with small bath with shower and WC; wardrobe and drawer space, chair and table, TV and radio, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, refrigerator and direct dial telephone. Staterooms are larger with full-size bath and shower, lounge area with sofa and a writing or vanity desk. Suites are even larger and feature walk-in wardrobes.
Admire the elegant two-tier atrium adorned with a decorative fountain sculpture and enjoy a stroll on the terraced decks, which afford excellent views of the ever changing surrounding seascape. You'll find a great sense of camaraderie on board, not to mention every amenity and facility you'd expect on a P&O Cruises superliner. You'll discover its easy to meet like-minded people, making Artemis an approachable and friendly ship that you'll want to return to time after time. There are three swimming pools including a lap pool, two whirlpools, spa and salon, gym and sauna, shops and a library.
Enjoy all that Artemis has to offer. Whether you're dining in the intimate surroundings of the Coral Dining Room, which was re-designed in December 2007, or taking in magnificent ocean views in the attractive Horizon Lounge, which was also re-fitted in December 2007, or enjoying your favourite drink in the Riviera Bar, you're certain to feel at home.
Attend a classical concert in Artemis Festival Theatre and you'll find the conviviality of her surroundings perfect for the Music Festival at Sea programme. In addition to the theatre Artemis boasts seven bars, three lounges including an observation lounge, a casino, card/games room, cinema and nightclub.
Passengers can also take part in a New Horizons personal enrichment programme offering history, art, literature, classical music, antiques, gardening and ballroom dancing.
