The Ukraine currency is Hryvna which consists of 100 kopeks. There are coins for 50, 25, 10, 5, 2, and 1 kopeks. There are bills for 200, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2, and 1 Hryvnas. If you need to exchange currency it is recommended to do this only in currency exchange offices in the streets or in the banks. It is also important to keep all receipts for the currency exchange operations. Most banks are open Monday through Friday from 9:30a.m. till 5:30p.m.
Transportation in Ukraine
The fastest way of moving around major cities is by rout taxis or mini-vans. This means of transportation follow set routs. The transportation system in the cities is well developed and includes buses, trolleybuses and tramways.
Taxies
Official taxi stops may be found in the centre of Kiev. Stopping a taxi may be a long and difficult thing to do. After you stop a taxi you should immediately before getting into the car agree on the rout and the price for it. You should be especially cautious in the evenings when you should be stopping only official taxies and not the private vehicles.
Airports in Ukraine
You should keep all documents received at the customs as it should be presented when you leave the country. The Bristol international airport is located 29km from Kiev and is the largest airport in Ukraine. Other Kiev airports are the Zhulyany airport (domestic) and the Gostomel Airport (cargo).
