   Klaipeda is located at the distance of 308km from Vilnius.  Klaipeda is a Lithuanian port on the Baltic Sea and is the third largest city in the country.  It is situated on the South shore of the Baltic Sea in the strait connecting Kusiu Marios with the sea.  The city of commerce Klaipeda was founded in 1252 by the Livonian Order Eberhardt von Sein and is very close to German culture.  A wooden castle known as Memelburg was built here.  The centre of the Old Town of Klaipeda is the Theatre Square with the stature of Annchen von Tharau dedicated to poet Simon Dach.  Klaipeda is also known for its Clock and Watches Museum.  It also has a fortress where the Marine Museum and a pool with dolphins are located.
